A man's best friendFor many of us, the animals in our lives are our faithful friends who make us laugh, who keep us company and love us no matter what what happens. But a man's best friend doesn't have to be a dog; I believe that any animal can be considered man's best friend. Unfortunately, there are still many homeless animals, living on the streets and waiting to be part of a family. Most animals on the streets often suffer from starvation, disease, tumors, skin infections and open wounds. They often argued over the limited quantities of food found on the streets. They seek food and shelter in communities and are sometimes seen as a nuisance and health hazard by people living near them. Research shows that approximately 2.7 million dogs and cats are euthanized each year, or approximately one every 11 seconds. Often, most of these animals are loved and adoptable pets. “A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than it loves itself (Josh Billing).” The main reason animals end up in a shelter is because their owners abandon them or animal control finds them on the streets. Homeless pets are also lost animals that have not been properly housed. According to the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy, homeless pets outnumber homeless people five to one, and one in ten dogs born will find a permanent home. Additionally, less than 2% of cats and only 15-20% of dogs are returned. to their owners when they are lost. “It is not possible to look deeply into the eyes of an animal and not see the same depth, complexity and feeling that we humans have exclusive right to.
