Immigration is a complicated system that gets bigger and bigger over the years. Immigration from the Middle East has grown by the thousands since the 1970s not only in the Middle East, but also in the United States. 55% of immigrants are from Mexico and approximately 40% reside in California. Many people believe that immigrants are bad for the nation, but studies show otherwise. Overall, Middle Eastern immigrants exist just as much as Mexican immigrants. Starting nearly 100 years ago, the population of Middle Eastern immigrants in the United States has grown significantly. Even though they only have information from 1970 to 2010, you can definitely see the increase. September 11, 2001 was an important date for the Middle Eastern population in the United States. Although there are many legal Middle Easterners living here, there are also many illegal Middle Eastern immigrants living here. Regarding religion, the percentage of Muslim Middle Eastern immigrants has increased dramatically over the years; starting at just 15% and growing to around 73%. So far, California has the largest number of Middle Eastern immigrants in the United States, at around 400,000. Like most immigrants, Middle Easterners came to the United States in search of job opportunities and other things related to a country new to them. Of course, this isn't always the case, but most of them were. Continuing with Middle Eastern immigrants, they usually tend to look for manufacturing jobs based on their studies. Manufacturing jobs included: meat factories, automobile assembly lines, and textile mills. Some of them have chosen a self-employed lifestyle like traders. Arab immigrants even started arriving as early as 1870 and most of them were Christians. The focus of the paper working on the railroads were Mexican immigrants. The Mexican immigrant population has skyrocketed! All in all, we can agree that most immigrants come here just for a better life. Who are we not to give them that “permission”? In conclusion, immigration is a very complicated system. While keeping immigrants out is a lot of work, we in turn are creating more problems. The statistics showed how much it affected this country. Even more, the conclusion would lead to ruin on our part. Most immigrants are just trying to make a living. Who are we to stop them? Although the law requires visa for residency here, they are making it difficult. Some decisions can be considered good, such as: not being able to deny anyone an education. It's good to see that some laws still help people build their lives.
