Furthermore, a supervisor in education must be sensitive to different religions, cultures and beliefs. As an educator it is important not to step on the toes of parents of children, because when they have many other jobs, this is not always their main concern. So what characteristics do you think a good supervisor should possess?...... middle of paper ......g! “Early childhood teachers need to be respected, knowledgeable and experienced people who are skilled at supporting and nurturing the growth of someone who has less experience.” That said, most, if not all, of your supervisors will possess similar skills. They might be approached differently, the standards might be a little higher for certain environments, but as we've learned, all good supervisors are built similarly. I hope to one day be a successful supervisor like the ones I have had in the past, to be a successful mentor like most of my teachers have been, and one day to even be someone else's motivation to be a better supervisor. I would like to be the supervisor who possesses similar skills, I would like to be held to my highest expectations regardless of career, and finally, I would like to guide others who work in pre-K to feel the same way.
