Introduction:The 1900s were an era in which humanity greatly excelled in the field of technology and greatly increased the knowledge of the universe and the cosmos in which we live. However, without a certain event in that era, we wouldn't have much knowledge about space or some everyday technologies that we would think would have been created without the event. Like the microwave. This event was The Space Race. The race essentially began from the rivalry that arose between the United States and Russia from the Cold War. The two nations have always tried to demonstrate that one is better than the other, regardless of where they come from; Who can build the best weapon? Who has the best leadership? Who is the most powerful? Russia believed that by studying the cosmos with space instruments and people it would finally prove itself to be the greatest and most powerful nation in the world. To achieve this goal, Russia created the Russian Federal Space Agency (RFSA) to research and launch missions and satellites into space to finally understand what is outside the confines of the Earth's atmosphere. It also made America a larger and more dominant power. The Russians sending a satellite (Sputnik 1) to measure space conditions caused concern to America and its citizens as it sent signals that radio and broadcast receivers could pick up and the unknown signals disturbed people and their broadcasts. In response to this, the United States created the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to quickly catch up and create better and more advanced satellites and push America to lead the race and ultimately answer and discover questions that have been asking amaze humanity for many. years and centuries......middle of paper......the world?:The space race made America an increasingly dominant power in the world. It has made progress politically to mark itself as a larger and more powerful nation. Socially, American citizens are amazed at how the United States managed to win the space race by landing on the closest space object in history. However, although it is controversial that the Soviet Union should have won since it was the first to send a man into orbit, the United States won the race to conquer and gain control and dominance in space. Although the space race was a huge competition, politicians considered it a draw once they had finally built the International Space Station (ISS). The space domain actually helped the United States as they were able to show areas of the Earth and provide a military breakthrough in imagery and GPS. The space race made America the nation it is today.
