SUMMARY The purpose of this business plan is to provide a vision and mission statement for the Wingate College Zone Center along with an integrated set of strategies learned in Business 417 to achieve the vision in areas such as downtown land use structure, business development, marketing and public relations, community development. Wingate College Zone Center functions primarily as a convenience retail and shopping center catering to basic shopping needs. In addition to its primary role, it plays a secondary role as a shopping, health and community services center with some specialist uses attracting customers from a wider area. Underlying Independence's success in reducing retail losses and keeping shopping local is its ability to offer residents, employees and visitors a unique, welcoming environment and a shopping/entertainment experience unlike anything else can be found elsewhere.
