I want to do something useful with my life, that's why I chose a career in adult nursing. My aspiration to study adult nursing has increased over the years. My recent involvement in university nursing placement work has strengthened my decision to pursue a nursing degree. The placement involved completing a week's work experience at a local NHS hospital where I shadowed a qualified nurse. This experience allowed me to work as part of a team and required me to demonstrate empathy, sensitivity, flexibility and emotional resilience. I was also able to learn all the different aspects of nursing care, such as how to observe a patient by measuring their blood pressure, temperature and oxygen saturation. There are many reasons why I chose to pursue this career path, however the main ones are that I love caring for people and want to make a positive difference in their lives.
