My topic is gang violence in Los Angeles and it has so much history behind it as to why, when and where it started. Los Angeles made its first appearance in the news in 1973, when a boy aged just 17 was shot and killed by a school security guard for frequently arguing verbally with the security guard. The historical development of gang violence may vary depending on the ethnicity of the gang. Most of the gangs in Los Angeles are in Echo Park which has 5 known gangs called EXP (Echo Park Locos), CRS (The Crazys), Frogtown, Big Top Locos, The Head Hunters. These gangs have similar criminal histories such as robberies and shootings. The largest known crime records are those committed by EXP, which is the most well-known gang in the park in that particular area. This is not the only area of Los Angeles that is ruled by gangs, there are also many places in the Los Angeles area that are ruled by gangs. There is a lot of history about gang violence in the Los Angeles area and most of it involves shootings. The Bloods are a very successful gang group with over twenty-five different gangs in the city of Los Angeles. They are known for killing and killing other people or other gang members. This gang is primarily an African-American youth gang. they are not a normal gang because they promote themselves all over Los Angeles. This is not the only violent gang in the gang community, gangs are also made up of different races such as Hispanic gang members and European-American gangs. These gang members are one of the main reasons why there is so much crime in the Los Angeles area. Los Angeles gangs are becoming more and more violent and causing more and more problems and are also getting into the illegal drug business. The situation of gang violence has changed dramatically over the years. It's changed from fistfights to people finding each other... middle of paper... even the body to look up. They also help them get somewhere in life and help them set lifelong goals like going to college, getting a job, and living a good life instead of fighting other people for stupid reasons. They could also make a difference in how people view their family going to college because then people would respect them and their family members for having a successful child in their life. In conclusion, I think these organizations are very important because they help people in so many ways that people don't see or understand how they help them. Work Cited Duffy, P, Maureen.
