United Nations involvement in international disputes helps develop relations between nations. Peacekeeping, a vital tool used by the United Nations, is one of the only methods that help the cooperation of nations by leading countries towards peace and forging a stable alliance between the world. United Nations peacekeepers, the peacekeeping workforce, are held by the principles of impartiality, consent of the parties and non-use of force except in self-defense and mandate during peacekeeping operations. Through military use, United Nations peacekeepers enforce peace, protect civilians, promote human rights, maintain civil wars, interstate conflicts, and facilitate the political security process. Furthermore, peacekeeping also helps establish the arduous transition from political conflict or poverty to political development. The peacekeeping process incorporates congenial strengthening of activities to promote peace and security. These include conflict prevention and mediation, peacemaking, peace enforcement and peacebuilding. While the primary purpose of peacekeeping is to aid countries and alliances, these sub-processes rarely occur sequentially. Instead, these activities occur jointly, where one process can reciprocally occur with another at the same time. To specify, conflict prevention involves mediating intra- or interstate affairs from escalating into civil and violent conflict. This process, however, mutually coexists with other peacekeeping activities. Peacemaking, for example, typically addresses conflicts by negotiating political agreements. Likewise, peace enforcement involves the use of military force to address these national disputes. While the peace process can take place with unlikely alliances/relationships. If the reputation had developed, the host city, such as Sochi, would most likely be aligned with a known status, due to an ongoing scandal. In the Sochi Games, although the alliances were unsettling, this gave all the more reason to marginalize Russia. The Olympic and Paralympic Games represent the sport of dignity and pride, but overall they establish a fundamental foundation for nations to respect and compete. The Games stimulate passion and excitement, but also integrate loyalty without violence or contempt. Competition is a neutral, yet unitary meeting place, where not only athletes, but individual citizens come together to create a positive and harmonized essence. These notions provide insight into a world of peace, as the Olympics are the most meticulous description of a harmonized world that can be fathomed in today's political and international feuds..
