“We are a great melting pot, but someone turned the heat too high and the stew started to burn. Gangs, crime, fights, [violence] and fear are now a regular part of our local stew (Neil Shusterman).” Gang violence has been ongoing since the 1940s and to this day, as we speak, the numbers continue to increase throughout Los Angeles, California. Gang violence has doubled the crime rate that has occurred to date. In order to prevent and reduce gang violence it is to encourage those who attend programs where former gang members discuss and share their problems and emotional disturbances due to gang violence. In the course of human events it has been seen throughout history how gang violence has affected the lives of adults and young adults, impacting our generation today and how our mission is to end gang violence by making it safer for our communities. The origin of how gang violence began was due to the racism of a clan called the Ku Klux Klan in the southern states. In the west the Los Angeles gangs in California began in 1969, when racism was also a big problem around the world....
