Genocide is the deliberate and systematic extermination or destruction of a racial, national, political and cultural group. Genocide is tolerated everywhere because almost no one knows or talks about the problem. For example, the Democratic Republic of Congo has been at risk since 1996. Genocides also occur due to hatred and different points of view. This issue of genocide that is occurring or about to occur in the DRC is an example of people's tolerance and intolerance. Congo is the third largest country in Africa, with over 68 million people. Congo has been called “Africa's World War” because, according to the Democratic Republic of Congo's genocide awareness, Congo suffered an invasion known as Colton's War. There have been “wars” in Congo, but during those wars and afterward there have been conflicts such as rape/sexual violence, destruction, death, child labor, disease, poverty and torture. There have been more than five million people who have died, including children, women and men in Congo, as the Eastern Congo Initiative website states, due to “wars” and other conflicts. The Democratic Republic of Congo is the scene of the bloodiest conflict since the Second World War. According to the United States to end the genocide in Congo, minerals have a huge impact because they are also used as a weapon. Minerals such as gold and tin are mined by children and used to support multiple campaigns and to enrich political leaders and warlords. Genocide is not something rare nor is it something that is everywhere, but when it appears it is difficult to get rid of it. The risk of genocide in Congo is very high. Although the wars lasted from 1996 to 2003, Congo continues to have many conflicts today. There are so many things happening and happening… middle of paper… it needs military reforms, electoral reforms, it needs more people investigating crime, shelter and a lot of support. It's sad to see how Africa's second largest country is at risk of genocide, but we must help these innocent children and adults who have done nothing wrong. Genocide is a sad thing because it's like the holocaust and more and people are suffering for something we know we can change. Help us get rid of the very imminent risk of genocide in the DRC!
