This is a test that records the electrical impulses of your heart. TREATMENTThis condition is treated by lowering digoxin levels. This must be done in hospital. To lower digoxin levels, your doctor may: • Give you a medicine that absorbs digoxin in your stomach (activated charcoal). Charcoal can be given by swallowing or given through a tube that runs from the nose to the stomach (nasogastric tube). • Perform gastric lavage. In this procedure, a tube is inserted into the stomach through the nose or mouth. The tube is used to remove digoxin that has not yet been digested. It can also be used to introduce medicine directly into the stomach to help prevent digoxin from being absorbed. In some cases, treatment may also include reducing or adjusting the dosage of digoxin.
