How I seem to love you! Why, you're like an on-off boyfriend who I know I should move on from, but I can't resist, because you make me feel so much better about myself! Then the sense of guilt sets in... and so it repeats! :-)Delay! Not a good trait to have! It's a bad mental habit that needs to be broken and the underlying cause needs to be found! The reasons? Perfectionism, feeling overwhelmed by large or daunting tasks and preferring to choose the “feel good” option, then putting off more “painful” tasks. In our EI lesson we learned to speak internally. What about self-control? Why do we criticize ourselves, putting off tasks that we know need to be done sooner or later? And do we do it to such an extent that we end up just being more afraid of the task and end up procrastinating further? Notice how I choose to use the “we” form here? Hey, it makes me feel better to know I'm not alone in my hesitation.
