Memory is very important in everyone's life. Without prior memory, or memory of the past, most people probably can't even think about what the future has in store. People would not be able to remember what they did yesterday, today or tomorrow. Without it, people can't learn new things or anything. Learning would be futile and empty without memory. I believe that every human mind has the capacity to learn many new things. Memory is based on three following phases: encoding, storage and retrieval. Basically, encoding is the stage where you learn new information and create a piece of memory. There are three main types of encoding: visual (image), acoustic (sound), and semantic (meaning). Archiving is the stage where the piece of memory is placed in a folder. Finally, recovery is the phase in which the piece of memory is recovered from where it was stored. The best analogy for this process is the filing cabinet. The information is typed on a sheet of paper. Then it is placed in the filing cabinet in the correct category, and when the document is needed again, it will be retrieved by someone. If ...
