The Warren Court was a really big deal in the 1950s-60s. The Warren Court helped liberalize America by eliminating segregation in schools, the separation of church and state, and criminal procedures. There are many court cases that are used to expand on the three things that changed America. Civil rights and our freedoms are what make us Americans and if our rights are taken away from us or even just a little bit, then we have a problem, but it also helped America by helping all Americans be equal! In 1953 the Court overturned Plessey v. Ferguson, and this case had allowed segregation in schools in Brown v. Education; this made the need for the Warren courts. The case of Brown vs. Education is the case where the court affirmed Marshall's position and the Plessey decision, so Warren thought that 'in the eyes of the law, justice was color blind'.
