The biggest challenge I faced was depression during my freshman year of high school. Little did I know that my life would become a roller coaster and if I didn't hold on tight enough I would fall. I was just starting college classes at the University of Minnesota, even though I was just a high school student. I remembered the anxiety and excitement of this turning point in my life, but that wasn't the only change. A month before school started my father left and my mother was only seven months pregnant. Since we also lost our only car, it was hard to take city buses to the shops. The difficulties that my mother and younger brothers faced appeared a long time ago. School starts and I thought everything will be fine since we were able to contact my dad again. I just thought all I had to do was keep my head up. On the way to school early in the morning I will stare out the glass window as everything moves and I feel numb. It seemed like a nightmare I couldn't get out of.
