Slavery began in the mid-1400s when the Columbian Exchange began. Europeans brought Africans to the Americas and slavery began. Today's human trafficking evolved from slavery. In slavery, owners used slaves for forced labor and occasionally for sexual pleasure. According to Rocket swag.com, white slavery also began in the 1800s and targeted women and children to be sold to wealthy owners. They used them for sex and eventually made them work. In 1863, the Americas attempted to end slavery. No one really knows when human trafficking began. The rocket swag also provides history from the 1700s, when children were forced to work. There is no exact year that human trafficking emerged from the state of slavery, but I believe that slavery gave people the idea to develop human trafficking. Human trafficking is modern slavery. According to humantrafficking.org, the causes of human trafficking are: poverty, soc...... middle of paper...... is trying to prevent human trafficking by raising awareness and has spoken to more than twenty thousand students to keep them safe. Human trafficking has existed for decades and will not end anytime soon. As time goes by, I have the feeling that if everyone was aware of this terrible crime, not many women and children would be vulnerable to human trafficking. Work Cited Humantrafficking.org page.
