Should gun control laws be stricter? Every day around the world we hear news stories about gun violence. Shootings in driveways, public places, schools, murders and suicides are some of the different types of gun violence. Shooting people and killing them is a big problem in the world and several comments are given about it. One of the most important involves gun control laws. Stingl (2013) states: “The term gun control as used in the United States refers to any action taken by the federal government or by state or local governments to regulate, through legislation, the sale, purchase, safety and the use of firearms and other types of firearms by individual citizens.” According to this idea, gun control laws should be stricter and people should not be able to easily access guns. However, there are many other people who believe that this idea is not a good solution and never help. This essay will demonstrate the opinions for and against the topic. People who agree with this idea consider: First, stricter laws will reduce violence, and gun control means crime control. Second, some research shows that armed people are at greater risk of being shot. Thirdly, guns can always be misused by their owners and finally, stricter laws are the best and fastest way to control crime and make the community safe. While opponents argue first and foremost that weapons are necessary for the safety and protection of people. Secondly, weapons are not the only tools of killing and violence; there are also other weapons and, finally, the possession of weapons is part of human rights. First, tougher laws will reduce violence, and gun control means crime control. There are some countries in the world that have introduced stricter laws and have managed to control crimes... the center of the paper... and the disadvantages of this idea and illustrate the importance of their beliefs. However, considering the statistics on gun-related violence (as some have shown in this essay) proves more advantages than disadvantages of gun laws due to the reduction in the rate of homicides, suicides, and homicides. So it seems like this solution worked in Australia and the UK, so it will also work in other countries like America. Therefore, it is recommended that governments around the world pay more attention to this solution. They should enact stricter laws that limit access to guns and even ban gun ownership. Furthermore, the Second Amendment was passed over 200 years ago and is not appropriate for people living in the twenty-first century, so it needs to be changed and improved and it is the government's responsibility to save lives by enforcing these laws.
