When you hear someone say “no, he didn’t!” Who do you usually imagine saying something like that? Imagine an African American woman. There are many different stereotypes portrayed in the media, some positive and some negative. The main stereotype that everyone knows is typically young male and female African American teenagers. They are described as very loud, obnoxious, ghetto, ignorant and dangerous. This stereotype was chosen to show how negative African American youth are betrayed. This is depicted in movies and TV shows like Friday, Madea, Moesha, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Love, and Hip-Hop. The film Friday portrays African Americans in a bad light. This movie is about two visceral friends and everything they go through in a day, living in the hood and the only reason it was a good day is because they didn't die.
