Topic > How is social constructionism useful in the life of…

There are two questions, so I will answer both of them the same. Starting from the way in which I believe that social constructionism is useful for the lives of children and young people. I will discuss the issue of childhood ending at the young age of eleven, how gender can play a significant role in the construction of children and young people. Then how place and time played a role in the creation of the “teenager.” Next, for the second question, I will discuss how photography is used and how adults dictate the use of these images. I will then discuss how recording development through a 'red book' is a key factor in how we learn about babies, children and young people. Next I will explain how Sure Start is aimed at all children, aimed at giving them a 'safe start' in life. At the end I will summarize everything with a conclusion and a list of references. I understood that social constructionism, reading the fourth OU Online learning guide (2013), is part of everyone's life, has always been in society and will always be in society. When a child is born, they know nothing, how to speak or what language they will learn, but the children's families will speak to them in their "native" language and as the child learns, the language is built. This is then reinforced once they start school. OU Online (2013) showed a video on the 'End of Childhood' and how Dame Jacqueline Wilson said that "teenagers are behaving like adults at an alarming age and parents must learn to cope with the demands of their children" . I think he might be right, but not for all children and young people as they are all different and develop at different stages in their lives. However OU Online (2013) states that as one...... middle of paper...... see this as a barrier. I've noticed that our local pediatric center celebrates Father's Day/Grandfather's/Uncle's Days and often Saturdays too. It is clear that they are working with children and their families in communities across the UK. To sum all this up would be to say that some people think a child's childhood ends too early and by the time they are eleven, gender matters. a way our society is built. Over time, teenagers have evolved and made their mark on society, parents may display photographs around the house and are used to refreshing memories and creating conversations with visitors. The discourse is used in the red book among professionals and parents and Sure Start children's centers have become part of community building by working well with children and their families ensuring they include male members of the community.
