Human beings are constantly faced with decisions, and these decisions are an integral part of life. However, not all decisions are life-changing. Therefore, important choices must be carefully considered due to the lasting impact they could have on an individual. Many literary texts try to convey the message of making the “right choice,” which is usually in line with the norm of society. The poems "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" and "The Road Not Taken" by American poet Robert Frost illustrate the importance of decision making. "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" illustrates the impact of the wrong choice made on the character's life to the point that he/she no longer has the will to live. This is represented through his mental state when he wanders in a dark forest miles away from his village. On the other hand, “The Road Not Taken” describes the difficulty of breaking the norm and making a choice different from others. The choice that this character must make is symbolically represented through a crossroads while he is in the woods. In both poems, the emotional impact that the choices left on the person and on Frost through the use of imagery, conveys that people who follow a challenging and unconventional path have a greater chance of self-realization. Making the right choice is a constant dilemma. that people face every day. The importance of making the "right choice" is very important because of the emotional impact that can come from making the "wrong choice". However, the difficulty lies in determining which is the correct choice. Most people associate the correct choice with the commonly followed path that everyone else also follows. In “Stop……middle of the paper……le from taking risks because of the unknown but potential benefits that can occur if a person acts differently. As a result, in both poems Frost tries to portray the message that if a person follows their dreams they can live without regrets. Overall, both poems illustrate the difficulties that arise in making decisions. These difficulties are illustrated by Robert Frost, through the character's emotional state in "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" and the use of imagery in "The Road Not Taken". However, in both poems Robert Frost tries to tell the audience that they are unique individuals. As a result, both poems try to provide insight into how to make decisions. Therefore, when choices are presented to individuals, they should strive to choose what will be best for them, regardless of how difficult the choice is or who else has made the same..
