This is known as child labor and happens a lot more than many people realize. Child labor is corrupt and there is no place for it in today's modern world. Child labor must be eliminated as quickly as possible, before many more children are trapped, as has happened to millions in the past. Second, many children are too young to realize that what is happening to them is wrong and illegal. Children under the legal working age in these developing countries should be involved in more important things than work. Every child deserves a good education, as well as the opportunity to enjoy life, learn new things and, above all, have fun. Hard work at an early age can really influence a person's outcome in the future. This terrible scam does not give children a fair chance in life; the chance for them to realize their full potential. Child Labor Issues Child labor involves children working at a very young age. Most children havebetween the ages of five and fourteen. In many developing countries, children of this age work hard every day for very little pay. Millions of young people are forced to work without any real choice. Work takes up so much of their time that attending school is impossible. School is a very important period in life. School is the place where humans learn almost all the information they need and will use in the future. Education is a must and children should attend school; they should not be forced to work. In developing countries, one in four children works. This is a sad statistic. Millions of children work and none of them should be forced to do so. Children are paid very little. Some children of this age do not know how little they are paid. It's not okay for children to work in these conditions and it's not okay for them to be underpaid. On average, children will earn less than half the pay of a salaried adult with seven years of education. This is happening for many reasons. Children are more malleable; they will do what they are told without asking questions. They are much more helpless. They are also less likely to organize against oppression and may suffer physical abuse without fighting back. Some customs in developing countries are very different from those in Canada. For example, in some developing countries, some people think that low-caste children should work rather than go to school. They believe this is their only option and that they don't need an education. In these countries, children are forced to mature too quickly and are not allowed to remain "children" for very long. Some children are forced to work to support their families. The parents of these young people are mostly unemployed and cannot find it or are poorly paid. The child's parents turn to them to bring money to the family. The roles of parent and child have been reversed. It shouldn't be allowed. Adults have more experience, more time, usually better education and much more knowledge. Children should absolutely not suffer and be forced to work. Employers get away with paying their children much less. Mainly because there is no one who can stop this from happening. Children are relied on and that's not right. Many countries have different laws regarding the minimum working age. In some countries there is no minimum age for working; the average is fifteen years. In some countries the age is between sixteen and eighteen. Any age under fifteen is too young to be given so much responsibility. The work required of children is long and carried out in dangerous conditions. This is unacceptable and would not come close to today's standards in Canada. Children are forced to work long days with little or no food, no breaks and sometimes up to six days a week. This is more than the average Canadian has to work, and these employees are only five to twelve years old. Most employers do not take children's legal rights into account. They are deprived of school, play and social activity. They are also denied emotional support from friends and family. Children are also vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse. These conditions would be very difficult for the average adult to accept and live with, much less a five year old. Children in these countries are taught from an early age to accept the conditions of their work and not to question them. Most parents of these children are surprisingly not against this. In fact, in some developing countries, parents from a less wealthy family often.
