Gun Control is Unconstitutional It is OK to grant 100% of the rights outlined in the Constitution of the United States of America in one area, but only about 90% in one other area? The Second Amendment guarantees citizens the right to bear arms. This topic is very important for every traditional and patriotic American who wants to provide and protect their families. Americans need to understand that guns are not the problem with all the violence and crime on the news. Guns are necessary for protection and owning them is not unconstitutional. Some argue that the United States Constitution allows citizens to bear arms only for a well-regulated militia, a militia being an army composed of common citizens. It is true that the militia is necessary for the security of a free state. They further proclaim that the provision “The constitutional right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.” The Second Amendment does not mention guns explaining that carrying a concealed handgun increases the chance that a confrontation will escalate and become lethal. Gun control advocates hold the line and believe that the use of guns is not established in the constitution and is considered dangerous. Many also believe that it is too easy to get a gun. Many believe it. but unfortunately they are wrong. Guns aren't the problem, people are. The United States is No. 1 in the world in gun ownership, yet it is only 28 in the world in gun homicides per 100,000 people. Between 1991 and 2011, the number of unintentional gun deaths decreased by 58%. Based on these facts it can be assumed that firearms are not the cause of gun violence. furthermore, civilians who obtain permits attend gun safety courses and have criminal records...... middle of paper...... causes of violence in the United States and that owning a gun is not unconstitutional but denying it one right it is We have the right to bear arms and taking it away immediately would be unconstitutional. Guns are not the cause of all the violence and crimes that have occurred over the years. They do not increase the mortality rate. Children are more likely to die in car or swimming pool accidents than gun-related ones (VerBruggen). Guns are for protection and hunting, owning a gun is not unconstitutional Taking away the Second Amendment or changing it would be unconstitutional and un-American, it's like any other right. This right is one of the reasons we are the land of the free and home of the brave. “Any society that will give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and will lose both” - Benjamin Franklin
