For my research paper I decided to cover the Haitian Revolution because that was the assigned topic for my group's presentation. For this research paper I found an article on the Broward Library webpage titled "Opposed Viewpoints" and the name of the article was "The Problem of Slavery in the Age of Emancipation" which stated that the Haitian Revolution began in 1791 -1804 and impacted a variety of places from Brazil to the United States. The writer of this article was called David Brion Davis and in this article he explains that he had a third installment of the trilogy. Davis begins his article with the word “animalization” and also talking about how his masters would treat him like another slave. The word animalization could really be used to explain how slaves were treated who were raped and beaten as if they were animals. At another point Davis explained that the proposal to send African Americans to Africa must have been hard on the population knowing that if the law didn't want them there they could simply be kicked out without saying a word otherwise they would be kicked out. they were killed in front of their children and family members. Really imagining it could make anyone cry when they see the bodies of poor Africans who just wanted to have freedom. Another article I found was by the same author David Brion Smith titled "Last Of A Searing Trilogy" where he talks about the issue of slavery and this is "moral perception" because knowing this most people will not judge slavery as some sort of choice. and choose rather to be forced. Many historians have wondered whether the Haitian Revolution could have lasted more years, but it would have been really difficult to defeat it after so many years and without any charitable support. The main concern... middle of paper... died trying. Throughout the Revolution there were challenges but in the end the Haitians succeeded with commitment and courage. Another event should be when Napoleon made a West Indies policy. After the end of the Haitian Revolution, yellow fever arrived and killed many slaves. In Saint Domingue there were about 20 thousand whites, mainly French, divided into two groups: the Planters and the Petit Blancs. Basically the way the groups were divided was by strength: the cultivators were stronger and did better at labor, while the Petit Blancs were more interested in soft things like painting and art. Last but not least I would like to talk about the ups and downs of the Haitian revolution and what I mean by ups and downs that the ups are the rewards, freedom from slavery the different benefits that the slaves got for their efforts and happiness and the bass.
