Recruiting Trends and Changing Workforce Demographics Workforce demographics are constantly evolving. This will have major impacts on recruiting trends in the coming years. There are many reasons for the rise and fall of jobs and the workforce in the United States since 1950. From men and women, age of workers, rise in education, immigration and marital status; all of these different things have contributed to these changes over the years and decades. There have been steady increases over the last 50 years, but over the next 50 years we will see a slowdown in this growth due to many factors. There have been increases and decreases in birth rates since the late 1920s. “Birth rates were low in the late 1920s and early 1930s, then became very high from the 1940s through the early 1960s.
