Social media is used by my field agency for announcements, publicity for upcoming events or medical information, such as raising awareness about medical information and safety (diseases). One of the ethical dilemmas that could arise from the use of social media is when a customer searches for and sends a friend request or adds a worker on Facebook. Another ethical dilemma might occur when a customer follows their worker on Twitter/Instagram. This could potentially take away the worker's privacy because the customer could learn more than they should, such as personal information, family photos, etc. On the other hand, it could hinder the helping process or therapeutic relationship, especially if the worker does not explain to the client why he cannot be friends on social media. The way I personally use social media is to be very professional online with my posts or conversations.
