Topic > Importance of Instructional Planning in Education

The third bullet expresses the importance of “Candidates understand[ing] how to manage the appropriate use of support staff, including volunteers, when available, and create plans for these people assist students in achieving educational goals.” During my second year of teaching, I was fortunate to meet some community volunteers who showed interest in supporting me in my classroom once a week they support me in my classroom by asking students questions, listening to group conversations, handing out, collecting documents, and grading. While these tasks are all helpful, I think I could use my volunteers more appropriately. What I mean by appropriate is that I could pull outside small groups of students who are struggling while my volunteer deals with the other students or vice versa. This would give my struggling students more individual attention to review the concepts they will need to “achieve learning goals” and feel successful or even proud of themselves. For the next term, I would like to challenge myself and create plans to pick up students during the days I have volunteers in mine
