Gangnam Style is a K-pop single by Korean musician Psy, released in July 2012. There was a rapid response to the popularity of this song and dance and it immediately went viral However, how come audience members fail to identify the powerful stereotypes of Asian males within his music video? Stereotypes of Asian males are a major issue and Gangnam Style is a great example and representation of the emphasis on how established stereotypes of Asian males remain and continue in the media so drastically. There have been several literature reviews by scholars that struck my interest in the topic of this research paper.
