There are three possible sources of energy. The sources are: wind, solar and fracking energy. There are ups and downs for all renewable energy and here they are. Solar energy is just one form of energy. Solar energy has its advantages, but most people think that solar panels are expensive disadvantages, but in reality it is an advantage. Solar energy starts saving money from day one. Electricity is one of the key things we need to clean up and solar energy is the way to do it. (Shanan 1-4) Solar energy is a visible form of alternative energy. Solar panels capture energy from the sun's rays and convert it into electricity. Solar energy offers a clean form of energy. Solar energy involves political considerations just like oil. (Linden 1-4) The Virginia Water Resource Research Center found that solar PV uses about 21 times less water than nuclear power, about 16 times less water than coal power, and 8 times less water than a single-cycle power plant combined. (Shanan 1-4) Solar energy also has disadvantages. Solar panels produce a lot of pollution when they are built and the sun doesn't always shine on them. (Shanan 1-4) It may even take several years to see a return on investment. Solar energy is not universal because different areas of the world receive different amounts of sunlight. Solar energy may not offer the best solution: there are distractions, they have high environmental costs and involve a large outlay of money. There may be contamination resulting from radio activation used to make solar panels. (Obstacle 1-4) Installation is expensive, being $80,000 for a three bedroom apartment after the federal rebate. Solar energy is the safest way to obtain energy without polluting the air or soil. Solar energy is expensive, but I'd rather go the more expensive, more environmentally safe route than the cheaper, energy-damaging alternative. We should become greener and save the world.
