The Children of the Holocaust had many experiences during their lives in the Holocaust. They went through very difficult times as children since they lived in ghettos, living conditions and transported there to safety. What experiences did children who lived through the Holocaust have? The way the children experienced the Holocaust was very bad and what they experienced. Children would be forced to leave their homes with their families. The first group of children transported out of their countries were those living in Poland. They were forced to live in ghettos. After being forced to leave those countries, they would be forced into ghettos with very little food and water and being children you didn't get much food and as a result they would die faster than the rest of the family. When children ended up in the ghettos they became orphans and had to raise each other. The houses they lived in were so small that they would have been so cramped that people would have had to live on the streets. The way the children died was that when they were too weak to work they killed the Jews. During this period over 1 million children, from newborns to teenagers, were killed in the ghettos, these children were divided with their families and were the first into the gas chambers. The Germans considered children unproductive, so they killed them ("Children's Story"). Children of the Holocaust went through difficult times living in ghettos, according to Kitty Saks explained her life as very hard but ultimately very fortunate. Kitty Saks grew up during the Holocaust, she was one of three Jewish survivors of the Holocaust. When people ask her what she thinks of the Holocaust, she says that he... middle of paper... lives with them. The fastest way to transport our country was to fly to Britain directly. Children who were sponsored would go with a foster family and children who had no sponsors would attend summer camps provided to them. The associations that saved these children focused on children in need of medical care or with dead parents or missing families or in concentration camps. The children chosen from the kinder transport were chosen and transported by train or by sea and the last transport took place on May 14, 1946 (“Holocaust Transport”). In conclusion to all these examples of how the children who lived during the Holocaust went through very difficult times as children from the time they lived in the ghettos, living conditions and there transportation to safety. These are the experiences that children had to go through during the Holocaust.
