While Hammond sees this type of genetic engineering as a duty, Davis (2008) argues that the use of genetic engineering on children is unconditional love saying, “just as we should love unconditionally existing children, so we should unconditionally accept whatever children we obtain in the natural course of things” (p. 259). Furthermore, it could put disabled people at a greater disadvantage than they already are. People will focus on trying to prevent disabilities, but in the end they will forget much of the society made up of disabled people. It will have a great impact on the disabled community because it will demonstrate that society as a whole discriminates against disabled people
