Embody Independence and ConfidencePart IIA As an individual and ambitious accounting student with the intention of pursuing a career in public accounting, I recognize the importance of understanding my core personal values and behaviors that guide the ethical principles of my daily actions . I recognize that I have a responsibility to myself, my family, future colleagues, future clients and the general public to follow certain guidelines and behave ethically. Additionally, I recognize the idea that ethical dilemmas will occur, but I am committed to my “Personal Code of Ethical Values” (as seen above) which represents my desire to live ethically in every aspect of my life. I strive to embody integrity in everything I strive to do. This means that each of my actions must encompass and demonstrate the values I possess, regardless of the context of the situation. Additionally, adhere to the high moral principles and professional standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Secondly, I believe it is important to be honest and respectful. I wish to express the truth in every written and spoken word. Presenting information fairly and impartially when it comes to carrying out accounting tasks is necessary in a profession that serves the public interest. I believe that being respectful means showing consideration and thoughtfulness in relationships with my fellow human beings with whom I come into contact. This goes hand in hand in addressing everyone from the family...... to the center of the paper ......lue lifelong learning and supporting the professional training of stakeholders in improving their understanding of information systems and controls when it comes to audits. Overall, I believe that my strengths will enable me to act ethically in the accounting profession, while I will continuously strive to improve my weaknesses to ensure that I become an ethical person every day. This blend of deontology and virtue ethics creates the ideal that I as an individual should have a positive ethical value as a motivator and be obligated to uphold my virtues in every single interaction or decision in my life. Each of my ethical values present in my code can and should be applied to both my personal and professional behavior. My code is critical to maintaining my moral compass in the workplace as I pursue a career in public accounting.
