I believe everyone has experienced this type of love at some point in their life. According to Sternberg's theory, infatuation includes passion, but does not have the aspects of intimacy and commitment. In my life, fatuous love comes in the form of crushes on celebrities and other strangers in my life. This type of love comes from afar without any bond or connection established in person. Many would describe this type of love as love at first sight. There is passion involved because there are sexual desires for that person. However, when I have a celebrity crush on someone, there is no real conversation between us and therefore there is no intimacy involved. No connection is established between us, which is necessary for this aspect. Furthermore, there is no commitment. This is because the celebrity crush and I don't plan on living in each other's lives, which in this case would also require the intimacy aspect.
