" This is a huge amount of young people. In recent years there have been incidents like the Columbine school shooting that have shown young people committing terrible acts of violence. In the case of the Columbine shooting, it was found that the teenagers who had committed the shooting were both avid players of a violent computer game known as Doom (Ferguson, 26). This prompted legislators and concerned parents to begin to oppose violence in video games ) can make young people extremely desensitized to violence and, in turn, cause them to commit acts of violence that they otherwise would not have committed. However, these people fail to realize that our young people have been exposed to violence for much longer than as modern media has been.
