Michael Mann does a good job of incorporating scenes where there isn't much going on with music to help set the mood of the scene. Michael Mann's choice of cast is also excellent, with actors such as Will Smith and Jamie Foxx. Will Smith does an excellent job of showing an almost uncanny mastery of the mannerisms and speech patterns of the real Ali. Ali is an inspiring and encouraging film that allows the viewer to get a closer look at Muhammad Ali's boxing career and legal turmoil. Michael Mann could improve this film by also focusing on Muhammad Ali's personal life outside of boxing and court trials. The strengths of this film were the excellent acting and the intense boxing scenes that made the viewer feel as if they were actually watching a real boxing match..
