EntryOne of the most discussed topics in the modern world is the indoctrination of children into religion. Children are not developed enough to decide what to believe or not believe. Everyone is born without believing in a religion until it is forced upon them or until they are developed enough to decide whether one of the religions “works” for them or not. In most cases, parents are the most influential part in a child's life. They decide what is the appropriate education for their successors and impose their ideas on their children. The world is diverse and people grow up in different cultures practicing different traditions. So, it might be easy for any of us to judge someone else according to a foreign opinion. But we must consider the fact that our opinions are wrong about someone's way of life. In the same circumstances we can discuss religion, analyzing its impact in different countries. Is it helpful to indoctrinate children into religion since they are immature and don't know what is right or wrong? Every human being has the divine right to make their own decisions unaffected by outside influences. But can a child make such an important decision as what to believe since he is immature? Of course it cannot, but society has the duty to guarantee the child a good educational system, which helps him to be independent on further actions. Indoctrinating your children into religion could be considered abuse, not in a physical context, but it prevents the child from growing up properly and impedes their freedom. Children Why do most people in all cultures and throughout history believe in gods? One way to answer this question is to understand why children acquire beliefs in gods. If an idea can't be easy... middle of paper... ld it is. And this is why children need to be indoctrinated from an early age, because they are immature and can be easily deceived. This is the idea behind the Jesuit maxim: "Give me a child up to the age of seven and I will give you man." What kind of "truth" is it that needs to be taught before people reach maturity? This is a poor substitute for the truth. Many Christians agree that Christianity needs to train immature brains to survive into future generations. If they accept this, what can they say about their famous claim that God exists and controls everything? Well, that's another topic to discuss and I will not consider it worthy to disagree with someone's beliefs as I respect the right to think what you want and not impose the truth. So they must stop indoctrinating children, leaving them free to think whatever they want after they have been sufficiently educated and matured.
