"Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago." Warren Buffet, considered one of the most successful investors in the world, quoted what I believe is a very significant and true statement. Investments, when done well, help ensure a bright and peaceful financial future. However, many people today do not believe that it can be an easy process, especially in this economy. The current financial situation facing the country has placed a strain on individuals, young and old, with financial burdens unlike any time in the past. The struggling economy has led many people to view the future as an unstable and tormenting state. In other cases, people do not believe that safe investments are feasible or realistic. However, if you are updated on investments, especially investments that give higher returns, you can see that real estate is the most profitable sector, where homes are more affordable than ever. Investing in real estate is better than other investments such as stocks because there are fewer risks involved and real estate can receive capital in several ways. According to James Kimmons, “While stocks and bonds are sensitive to inflation and typically imply only value appreciation potential… we see here that real estate offers multi-faceted investment returns.” or value, over the years, and can also provide owners with residual income, from renters. In addition to providing income, property owners are also provided with security and financial stability. As a young person who has done a lot of research into the real estate market, I have come to the conclusion that distressed properties provide the greatest return, both in financial terms... middle of paper... which can be done on your terms, exactly how you want that is and also provides personal satisfaction should you participate in its reconstruction. A newly rebuilt property has now become my comfortable living space for the next two years while I attend Sacramento State University. The investment has also served as a financial gain, thanks to its continuous increase in value and when it becomes a rental to future students and families.
