There are many different types of parents. There are parents who are kind to their children, spoil them and give them everything they want. On the other hand, there are parents who are mean to their children, make them do all the housework, and provide bad living conditions for their children. The Walls' parents would fall on the worst end of the parenting scale for many reasons. First of all, both of Walls' parents are out of touch with reality. Secondly, parents behave like children and children must behave like responsible adults. Finally, parents are selfish and care more about themselves than their children. Both Rex and Rosemary Walls are unfit to be parents of the Walls children. One night Rex was drunk in a bar and met a man named Robbie. After Rex pushes Robbie into the pool, Robbie wants to take Rex's daughter Jeanette upstairs to his apartment. Rex knows that Robbie only wanted to have sex with Jeannette.
