Get an Original Essay This Personal Development Plan (PDP) includes inferences to guide others, refining the mission when appropriate, fostering innovation and creativity in the process; all the while providing continuous communication. A leader cannot simply determine the team's destination, but provide guidance, education, advocate for change, and show respect along the journey. In order to achieve results, the leader must be able to establish priorities and help team members select the most important tasks. These goals and the development opportunities that follow will be realistic and will include achievable activities, which will include requesting feedback on them. Strengths Identifying strengths is critical in creating the PDP, as they can often be enriched and leveraged to address development needs. The short list of my personal strengths includes personal and professional competence, responsibility and change management, continuous professional development (through lifelong learning), and supporting team members. The short list of professional strengths includes intellectual power, high level of commitment and motivation (i.e. tireless), not averse to change, develops a strong following, and has an innate ability to influence at corporate and board levels. I generally don't allow problems to escalate, nor do I allow failures to devalue the effort or recognition required for the attempt. My Personal Leadership Development Plan Opportunities Becoming a great leader is a daily process that is the culmination of my continuing education, work experiences, life experiences, and my perspectives and values. Three important skills (facilitating team innovation, creativity and collaboration) are the areas I want to focus on in the PDP. Gaining additional skills in these areas is critical to my preparation for a broader HR role within my organization. The expanded assignments incorporated into the PDP will force me to perform, learn, and will help impact and influence my leadership skills.
