A role model is someone who focuses on the big picture of an organization's strategic plan, leading by example, providing encouragement, providing timely feedback, providing ways to train employees, and improve one's success within an organization (Lewis, n.d.). A role model is positive and has several characteristics to support his positivity, namely being ethical, confident, hardworking, respectful, optimistic and creative. My role model at work would be my supervisor, who is also the Vice President of our organization. It has all these features; is very supportive of one's ideas and can help an individual see things from a different perspective than they originally saw them. I know there were several times when I presented a situation to her because I wasn't sure how to handle it myself.
