At the time, Astana was one of the fastest growing urban areas in Kazakhstan. Life in this city was just beginning, so many people immigrated from different parts of one country. My grandparents were already waiting for us in the capital. It was necessary for us to live together for a short period of time because we could not afford a separate house. However it was a huge advantage for me and my young parents since my grandmother decided to take responsibility for my upbringing. The journey of my passion began in the theater when my grandmother took me to see the ballet show “Swan Lake”. A graceful ballerina in a snow-white tutu with sad emotion helped me feel the real pain of the protagonist Odette. Fascinated by the harrowing story, I barely noticed the dancer's legs, especially her shoes. When I asked my grandmother she said they call them “En Pointe”. I soon realized that it must be difficult to be a dancer. I have always wanted to dance beautifully, but this incredible performance helped me take the first step. Unfortunately I couldn't attend ballet, instead I went to ballroom dancing. My teacher has become a role model for most of the students in our dance class. Tall, slender with perfect posture, she always moved as she flew, a pure swallow. His smile and praise helped me have more confidence in my dance moves. Not everything worked as quickly and well as I would have preferred. Sometimes I had the desire to give up and start something else, but the love for music and rhythm prevailed. My first performance was truly memorable. That day the whole family came to support and cheer for me and my partner. I had on a long pink dress and raunchy makeup that made me look like a professional dancer. All the girls looked the same, their hair gelled and tied in a bun but that was the main rule. I still remember the end of the prom and the ovation of the people shouting "Bravo!". It was a great joy for me to perform in front of my classmates who then pointed to my side and boasted that they knew me. Having practiced ballroom dancing for almost 5 years, I decided to go further and acquire different dance styles. As time went by, things changed and hip-hop became one of the most popular dance styles. Together with a hip-hop I learned to dance house and vogue. I once had a chance to dance in front of the fashion master, and it was a great life experience for me. However if someone ever asked me what my favorite style is I would definitely say k-pop. K-pop music and culture led me to study in Korea. Also my biggest dream is to perform in a popular Korean group.
