A composer is a person who writes music. On the other hand, an artist is a person who entertains the audience. The song Stand By Me was composed by Ben E. King (Benjamin Earl King) in 1961. After his death on April 30, 2015, the band Imagine Dragons paid him a special tribute at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards by performing his song Stand By Me. There were voices, electric guitars and tamarins in the performance. There was singing. The vocals were high, low and there were even long notes sung by frontman/vocalist Dan Reynolds, along with guitarist Wayne Sermon, drummer Daniel Platzman and bassist Ben McKee. The dynamics were also soft and noisy at times. The song was sung at a medium tempo. The style of the song was Rhythm and Blues because it was upbeat and funky music. Say no to plagiarism. The lyrics to me mean that you can overcome anything in life as long as your loved ones stand by you and by your side. In the song it says "No, I won't, be afraid as long as you're around me." The performance reminds me of my family and friends because they are the reason I do what I do and without their support I would. I have not been determined to achieve my goals. Overall, I enjoyed listening to Imagine Dragon's Stand By Me performance because I could connect with it. I think the original version of Stand By Me by Ben E. King was fantastic and very classy. But, if I had to choose, I would say Imagine Dragon's performance of Stand By Me because it was more up-tempo and the vocals are more modern like.
