IndexWhat is a perfect family: if we need to love each otherFinal thoughtsReferencesIn your editorial opinion, "What is a 'normal family', anyway?" published by the New York Times on February 5, 2019, you argue that family should be about love. Support your statement by introducing your personal experience, comparing families from then to now, describing the perspectives of close friends and strangers on this type of family dynamic, and discussing what a perfect family experience is. Your purpose was to illustrate that love can be found through community and friendships instead of prioritizing romantic love. Write with an optimistic and sincere tone for audiences of both old and new generations. I agree with your logic that love can be found in different types of relationships and I agree that in today's society the concept of family dynamics is evolving. However, I want to think more about what a perfect family is - I will do so in this essay. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? It can be interpreted in many ways as a feeling that can occur between two children, adults or animals but it can be something completely different; there are many different types of love such as brotherly love, animal love, romantic love and many more. Looking at the perspective of the researcher, professor of International Relations and director of the Global Data Center, Jong-Hee Park and others point out that “…intimacy is presented as one of the three main components of love; the other two are passion and commitment”. Since different people have different expectations about love, that's why most of the time they lack one of the three components of love in their relationship. Assuming that people view love with feelings of appreciation, affection and closeness, they lack the ambition to settle down or learn something new in order to resolve their situations. This leads to many adults having difficulty finding a partner because they don't know what they are doing wrong since they have followed every step of the guide, which does not necessarily mean that something will happen that can lead us into the topic of family. I am mildly fascinated but not shocked by the fact that a family does not need to be “united” or “complete” in order to function as a normal family. I believe that in today's society many people are becoming more open and willing to accept the fact that a "perfect" family will not always consist of two parents; a male and a female, and their children, could be made up of two mothers, two fathers, or a single parent. Technically family members could also be your closest friends or distant relatives who were once estranged. Studies by the Pew Research Center have shown that the number of two-parent families has “dropped from 87% of families in 1960 to 69% in 2014.” They are happy like any normal family. There is no need for a “traditional” family because I believe many people today choose to be a single parent family or don't have much of a choice. We must also take into account that children living with two parents today may face a variety of family situations due to the increase in remarriage, cohabitation and divorce. This may not be healthy and can cause many problems for children in the later stages which may or may not be as obvious to the eye. It can be said, 34(2), 167-187.
