Topic > Grocery Store Nightmare

The faint sound of people talking, in the stillness and eerie silence, was suddenly interrupted by a thunderous sound. Out of nowhere a projectile soared in front of me and I crashed into the shelves full of cans causing chaos throughout the grocery store. People ran frantically, crawled to the nearest hiding place, said their last prayers for a sign of hope. And the only thing on my mind was “What's going on?” At that moment, I just wanted to run into my mother's comforting arms. However, I was alone, with no one to comfort me or protect me. The "supposed" quick trip to the supermarket for milk turned into a nightmare and I didn't know what to do or how to react. I decided the best option was to find a way out, but there was only one window and it was on the opposite side of the store. The chances of them shooting me were awfully high, so I decided to hide under a table for safety until I had a chance to escape without them noticing. As soon as I saw the chance to run, I sprinted, I felt my bones pop from the sudden movement. I took a leap of faith knowing I could shoot myself in seconds, but what kept me going was seeing my little sister again. I imagined her soft rosy cheeks with golden freckles and in that instant I told myself that I would do everything in my power to survive this horrible experience. When I finally got to the window, I peeked out to see what was happening. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? They were dressed in black from top to bottom, holding a gun as if they were ready to shoot anyone at any moment. The only tactic they used was violence, for them it was the only way to get what they wanted. They were grabbing people from the grocery store by the feet, dragging them into a black truck. As they were dragged, they left a trail of blood from their faces that slid across the concrete of the street. I felt my heart start to pound, I could feel it and feel it beating beat after beat, my hands started to shake, they were shaking so intensely, that I had to put my hands under my legs to stop them from shaking. I realized that the men could find me hiding under the window at any moment, I was afraid that I would be the next victim to be killed. Suddenly, a man entered the grocery store shooting the aisles and everything he came in contact with. Hearing the shots and fearing for my life, I reached out to grab the side of the window handle, but I didn't know it was broken. The sharpness of the glass cut my fingers instantly. I could feel the blood rushing to my fingers but I wasn't about to give up due to a slight cut. I put my feet on a shelf to use it as a step out the window but I couldn't. Suddenly I could feel someone wrap their hands around my waist pushing me up to help me out the window, but as I looked back to thank whoever it was, all I saw was a blur of someone's face. Once I exited the grocery store, I ran as fast as I could, the steady thuds of my footsteps echoing in my ears and I felt a trickle of sweat roll down my forehead. A few minutes later, I realized I was far from home..
