The meal that shaped me the most was Cici's Pizza Lunch during my 2012 All-Region Clinic. We used to have pizza making competitions, which ended up making people really sick. I felt really bad for the Cici's pizza staff. You can honestly tell a lot about a guy in a band by how fast he eats. There's something fun about gorging on a competition that no one ever wins. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Get an original essay The pizza eating contest had been the band's topic of discussion for several weeks beforehand. There was talk about what different people who were planning on attending this event did to train themselves to consume copious amounts of pizza, and I have to admit, it didn't look pretty. Most of their plans were to fill themselves to bursting point, or so they said. One of them said, “You have to let the grease slide off the pizza.” The thought of this made me sick; I didn't know that the contest would be pretty gruesome. There were quite a few people training, but it only consisted of three sections, the tuba, the clarinet and the saxophone. The tuba section, which had about eight members, seemed to prefer the meat-lovers' pizza, which pairs quite well with their instruments; both have a friendly quality. The saxophone section, which is the section I was in, had six members who all preferred the pepperoni pizza, which just like the saxophone, is a very classic choice. The last group to participate was the clarinet section, which had about ten members in their section, they preferred the Canadian cheese and bacon pizza, which is also comparable to the instrument, because it is light but pleasant. Believe it or not, you can determine a dedicated band. boy by how fast or slow they eat. The slower they eat shows that they are super dedicated to doing things right. In other words, they slow things down to enjoy every piece of pizza and every song. The faster they eat shows that they like to run around and don't really care about doing things right. The faster they eat shows that they don't take their time and don't enjoy what they are eating or working on. You'd be surprised, during this competition I discovered that the slower you eat, the more pieces of pizza you can put down, so once again the guys from the dedicated gang win. Finally the day everyone was waiting for arrived, the day of the all-regional clinic, which meant the much vaunted pizza-eating competition. Everyone crowded at the door excited for the pizza stand. Everyone made their choice and sat down. The competition began and the pizza sauce literally flew everywhere. The contest lasted about twenty minutes and nearly thirty or more pizzas were eaten. Pizza sauce, cheese, and sick kids were everywhere. It was a truly delightful disaster when the saxophones won. Cici's pizzeria in Fort Smith was so incredibly messy. The staff had to constantly clean the floors, plates and tables. They also had to clean up the product of being sick and overeating, which would have been horrible. I imagine the cost of all the pizza ingredients is extremely high, so I imagine they may have lost quite a bit of money. I felt really bad for them. The All-Region Clinic is a two-day post-competition convention where musicians from across the region who formed the All-Region bands gather and play. They are a total of twelve hours and the next day they give a concert to show how much they are.
