Power lies in the multitude, these amazing social changes would not have been achieved if Gandhi had not been able to bring together such a large number of people who were in desperate need of change and that they were willing to do anything to make it happen. In theory, if the entire world followed the ideals of satyagraha, we would live in peace and happiness forever. There would be no war because war is a violent technique. There would be no hatred because hatred is a violent act. One of humanity's many problems is also what makes humans so unique. Our ability to feel intense emotions controls many actions we take. Gandhi once encouraged the use of nonviolent techniques against Hitler and the Nazis. Gandhi was full of love, but there were people whose hatred could not be overcome with love. Hitler and his Nazi army are such a specific circumstance that it was planned in a way to take away the humanity of each of his followers. They each had a small task in the process of exterminating a race so they didn't feel like they were really doing anything wrong. They didn't blame themselves for the deaths of innocents because they didn't have to experience the whole process. British rule over India was extremely different.
