Government and Religion: Praying in Public Schools A very important issue in the United States is the relationship between government and religion. Should there be a real connection between “Church and State”? In a letter to a Baptist minister, Thomas Jefferson stated that “the entire American people who have declared that their legislature should “make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, building thus a wall of separation between church and church." State." (http://www.free2pray.info/Danbury.html). The phrase “a wall of separation between church and state” is often mentioned or cited during discussions regarding the intermingling of religion and politics and religion in generally perceived as two of the most controversial topics of conversation, often leading to heated debates on different issues However, things are certainly not lighter, when you combine the two topics into a single discussion about their relationship to each other. A crucial question in this. Discussion is a religion in the US education system. Until the mid-20th century, organized prayer and Bible reading were practiced in public schools across the country school prayer in Engel v. Vitale Only two years later, in another landmark case, the court would decide that even authorized Bible readings in school and other similar religious activities should not be permitted (http://www.oyez. org/cases). Should these sentences continue to stand in this country? YES. The United States government should continue to ban prayer in the public school system.
