Turning Tassel.I believe graduation day is a significant day for everyone, we all have different thoughts, different emotions and we are all excited to think we have made a short- long-term goal in our way of achieving our long-term goals. I graduated from Palm Beach Lakes Community High School. It was one of the most anticipated days of my life. I was sitting on my couch and contemplating the contrast that a full-length portrait of a black woman with her afro hair, black eyes and white smile showing off her beauty creates; with the pale pink color of the living room wall. Thinking about how quickly I grew up. Understanding that in the blink of an eye life passes without us even realizing it, how much we learned from those school years. Suddenly I heard a buzzing sound coming from the front door which made me jump in fright and forget what I was thinking. I see my grandmother dressed in a white, gray and light purple flowered shirt with black trousers, with totally white hair and a smile on her face as she hands me a letter saying "congratulations Mija, I'm proud of you", when she gives me the letter...
