They all show a different perspective on how depression is viewed. Looking at Kramer, he shows an empirical side, while Rose and William Styron see a prospect of confronting and dealing with the depression of someone close to them, or having the illness itself. Considering all three sources together, it can be deduced that depression is not just a feeling of melancholy and does not only affect the person who suffers. Society needs to understand that depression comes from within, internally, and is not as simple as a physical problem
