The opposition claims that school uniforms berate students for their ability to display fashion and style. However, school is a learning environment, and while it can be fun to show off fashion and style, some clothing can be distracting ("FactsPlusLogic"). Surely, schools that do not implement uniforms into their systems contradict the very purpose of the learning environment. Opposing views might also argue that school uniform prices are too high for low-income families (“Pros and Cons”). However, schools often sell or trade used uniforms with families who cannot afford to buy new ones. You can also find discounted used uniforms at local consignment stores ("How much does a school uniform cost?"). Since the uniforms would be used earlier, pricing should never be a big concern.
