The first limitation makes perfect sense; Anthropologists are generally welcome everywhere in a society, but it is logical that they are not allowed into the intimate part of people's lives. The second limitation is that, in their concern to demonstrate that societies vary in the frequency of sexual acts and the meanings attributed to sexual behaviors, anthropologists often ignore the physical aspects of sex in other societies. Maybe they neglect to ask these types of questions because they don't know how people will respond. I don't know if it's socially acceptable to ask someone what it feels like to have an orgasm or what it feels like to be sexually aroused. At least in American society I know you'd get some strange looks if you started asking that. The final limitation is that until recently most anthology research had been conducted by men who usually spoke to male informants. Even I can see that this is a very neat way of doing things.
